About Impact Conclave

The Impact Conclave Initiative is approach that intentionally seeks to support developmental goals by bringing added clarity to the development planning and implementation processes, by identifying priority policies and activities at various stages of the development continuum, by helping plan, and execute the many activities needed to ensure successful launch and scale of these initiatives and by aiding the harvesting of valuable insights from these pursuits. This Initiative also looks forward to curate and disseminate wisdom, expertise and perspectives from key stakeholders of the development sector and subsequently, help register a positive impact for billions of our people.

Vijay Mahajan

Mr. Vijay Mahajan is the Founding Chairman of the BASIX Group. Mr. Vijay is an esteemed alumnus from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (1970-75) and from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (1979-81). He was also a mid-career fellow at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public International Affairs, Princeton University, USA. Soon after graduating from IIM-A, Vijay started working in the field of rural development in Bihar. He is known have founded many rural centric organisations Viz. Professional Assistance for Development Action (PRADAN) in 1983, BASIX in 1996, Sa-Dhan in 1998, Andhra Pradesh Mahila Abhivrudhi Society (APMAS) in 2000 and Microfinance Institutions Network (MFIN) in 2009.

Mr. Amitabh Kant

Mr. Amitabh Kant currently serves as the CEO of NITI Aayog. Prior to this, Mr. Amitabh has served as Secretary, Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP) and Chairman, Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (DMICDC) and National Productivity Council. Amitabh Kant was also the National Project Director of the Rural Tourism Project of UNDP which made a paradigm shift in spreading tourism to Indian villages which had core-competency in handicrafts, handloom and culture. Amitabh Kant did his schooling from Modern School, Delhi, graduation in Economics (Hons) from St. Stephens, Delhi University and M.A from Jawaharlal Nehru University. He was also a recipient of Chevening Scholarship.

Jyotsna Puri

Dr. Jyotsna serves as the Deputy Executive Director and Head of Evaluation at International Initiative for Impact Evaluation. Dr. Jyotsna has over 18 years of experience in evaluation and evidence-based policy. She has worked earlier at the World Bank and the United Nations. Previously she was an Associate Research Scientist at Columbia University. Jyotsna is also serving as an adjunct faculty at the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), Columbia University. Dr. Jyotsna’s main work in the evidence-policy spectrum has been focussed on poverty, agriculture, environment, infrastructure, health and energy. She has worked and engaged with national governments in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean and led several inter-agency evaluations.

Priyanka Dutt

Ms. Priyanka Dutt is Country Director India for BBC Media Action, the BBC’s international development charity. BBC Media Action uses the power of media and communications to help people transform their lives. Priyanka has over 18 years’ experience in media and communications, and has worked extensively on social and behaviour change communication programmes. She currently provides strategic leadership across multiple communications projects on maternal and child health, gender empowerment, and water and sanitation, using diverse platforms such as television, radio, mobile, community outreach and interpersonal communication.

Ms. Sonali Khan

Ms. Sonali Khan is the Vice President at Breakthrough, a global human rights organisation. In her current role she leads the operations of Breakthrough in India. Ms. Sonali joined Breakthrough in the capacity of Communication Director, and since then has created and led Breakthrough’s media and campaigning strategy. In her current role as the Vice President, Ms. Sonali has been instrumental in expanding Breakthrough’s reach and has been actively developing support for the organization. She has played a key role in extending the work of Breakthrough to focus on issues of early marriage and sex selective elimination.

Dr. Vikam Patel

Dr. Vikram Patel is the Co-Founder and the former Director of the Centre for Global Mental Health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). His work spans a wide variety of topics and disciplines including epidemiology, medicine, psychology, disability, neurological disease, noncommunicable diseases, public health, substance abuse, economic evaluation, and implementation research. His primary interest, however, is in global mental health, specifically, the improved treatment and care of people with mental disorders around the globe.
